Emergency Broadcast System/Emergency Alerts

Civil Defense agencies, employees, and volunteers are located all across the country and are ready to respond at a moment's notice. These agencies try to plan for every disaster. They provide information and resources for anyone who is considering their emergency needs.

 

State Offices and Agencies of Emergency Management
The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has emergency management agencies and services listed for each state. There is also contact information for Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, and other Pacific territories of the United States.

 

National Association for the Deaf
You can find emergency preparedness information in the legal rights section of this website. The information is related to making emergency messages more accessible to people who are deaf or hard of hearing.

 

EMCOM (National Emergency Alert Notification System)
EMCOM is a public service, non-governmental organization. It provides communication, coordination, and notification systems for emergency management personnel.

 

Emergency Alert System (EAS)
The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) provides information on national and local emergency alert systems. The systems are used by the President of the United States and local authorities to warn the public about emergency situations.
