About the Kaua'i Agency on Elderly Affairs

The County of Kaua'i Agency on Elderly Affairs (AEA), with the Mayor as Chief Executive, is your local Area Agency on Aging. Its purpose is to plan, support, and advocate for programs to promote the well-being of Kauai's older adults and to address and respond to the priority needs of all seniors.

Our Mission

The Kaua'i Agency on Elderly Affairs, as the designated lead County agency, plans, implements, supports, and advocates for the well-being of Kauai’s older adults.

Our Vision

Kauai’s older adults will live independently at home or in the community with dignity and respect.
Kauai’s family caregivers receive adequate support to care for their older adults.

Our Goals

Older adults and their caregivers have access to information and an integrated array of health and social supports.
Older adults are active, healthy, and socially engaged.
Families are supported in caring for their loved ones.
Older adults are ensured of their rights and benefits and protected from abuse, neglect, and exploitation.
Older adults have in-home and community based long term care options.
Hawai'i’s communities have the necessary economic, work-force, and physical capacity for an aging society.

Kauai Seniors Celebrate Healthy Aging!

The Agency on Elderly Affairs, in collaboration with its partners, is "Working Together for a Strong, Healthy Kauai". Two programs being implemented to help seniors improve their health are the (click on link for more information) Better Choices, Better Health, also known as Chronic Disease Self Management Program (CDSMP) and the EnhanceFitness physical activity program. RSVP Program

The Kauai RSVP program, sponsored by the Kauai Agency on Elderly Affairs, is looking for individuals 55 years and older to volunteer their time and expertise to help community agencies on Kauai.
