Description:
La‘akea Village is a life sharing community that includes intellectually and developmentally disabled youth and adults dedicated to discovering, supporting, and enhancing the contribution of each individual through meaningful opportunities and productive work. The programs include farming, economic ventures, the arts and activities of daily living – all coming alive in a community with homes, community buildings, a farm market, craft studios, and multipurpose buildings. Inspired by the international Camphill model, La‘akea offers a unique alternative to conventional care where co-workers, residents, and day program participants thrive. La'akea Village is a Department of Health licensed Medicaid Waiver provider offering personal assistance/habilitation, adult day health, respite care, and vocational training.
