Our Kupuna is a free service that assists with grocery and medication pick-up/drop-off so you don’t have to leave your home. All volunteers (“sponsor”) are community members doing this service to help kupuna in need. At the time of grocery delivery, the sponsor is responsible for providing a full receipt of the items purchased to the kupuna, and the kupuna is responsible for reimbursing the sponsor for the cost of the items via cash/check (no credit cards allowed). Eligible Kupuna must be at least 60 years of age. Kupuna can apply online or by phone. We will collect the kupuna's information and connect them with a nearby sponsor. The sponsor will a) check in with you once a week by phone, and b) pick-up/drop-off food and necessary supplies every 2 weeks. Kupuna who use SNAP/EBT: please ask about our EBT Elite Program - our partnership with the state EBT office allows us to register the volunteer to be authorized to shop for you using your EBT account.
